Evanston native, Jason Logsdon, 41, was recently charged with four more armed robberies in DuPage County. Those charges are in addition to several Cook County ones, five of which stem from Lincoln Park and Wicker Park.
An Evanston man already charged in 11 business and hair salon robberies—four of which were in Lincoln Park and one, in Wicker Park—was accused Friday of even more hold-ups. Jason Logsdon, 41, of the 900 block of Chicago Avenue in Evanston has now been charged with robbing four DuPage County businesses. They include a Glen Ellyn Great Clips and three businesses in Lombard, according to DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin. He was charged with four counts of armed robbery, each a Class X Felony punishable by up to 30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. The law allows for the sentences to be served consecutively, making it possible that Logsdon could serve a maximum sentence of 120 years if convicted of those four counts …

The Cook County State's Attorney's Office charged an Evanston man Wednesday with 11 counts of armed robbery at a suburban police station. Investigators say they believe he was involved in several armed robberies in Lincoln Park and around the North Side.
The Cook County State's Attorney's Office approved 11 counts of armed robbery against an Evanston man today. The announcement was made at the Skokie Police Department at 10:30 a.m. Jason Logsdon, 41, of the 900 block of Chicago Avenue in Evanston, was charged with 11 counts of armed robbery, all Class X felonies. Police believe Logsdon is responsible for a total of 15 robberies—some of which were in Lincoln Park and as recently as Monday, Wicker Park—but the remaining four occurred in DuPage County. That county is still continuing its investigation, police said. Suburban investigators said late Monday that they arrested a man who may be to blame for several hair salon burglaries in and around Chicago. Hours after a Wicker Park robbery earlier that day, city cops didn't deny that incidents could be connected.
Suburban police issued a statement late Monday night saying they believed they had "the hair salon bandit" in custody. Behind the arrest was the Skokie Police Department, which was collaborating with several area departments to identify the man responsible for the armed incidents in and around Chicago—the most recent of which occured Monday morning at a Great Clips in Wicker Park. The department issued a news release around 9:45 p.m. regarding the arrest. At that time, the suspect was still being questioned, they said, and his name had yet to be released. Police say a hair salon in Wicker Park was robbed on Monday morning. It's one of several that have occurred in and around Chicago in recent weeks.
Another hair salon has been robbed on the North Side. Authorities responded Monday morning to an armed robbery at a Great Clips in Wicker Park at 1238 N. Ashland Ave., said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala. The offender reportedly walked into the salon around 10:45 a.m., showed a handgun and demanded money. He may have left the scene in a dark-colored vehicle, Zala said. The robbery is one of many that have occurred in and around Chicago in recent weeks. A few of those have been in Lincoln Park. Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday morning at a Lincoln Park Great Clips. The incident is the second of its kind in an eight-day time span.
Police were investigating a second hair salon robbery in an eight-day time frame Tuesday afternoon that occurred that morning in Lincoln Park. The incident, which took place around 9:50 a.m. at Great Clips, 1005 W. Webster Ave., involved a 200-plus pound Hispanic suspect clad in a red jacket and grey scarf who police estimate stands between 6 feet and 6 feet, 2 inches tall. Brandishing a handgun, he walked into the salon and demanded money, according to Affairs Officer Veejay Zala. "He then fled on foot," Zala said, adding that no injuries were reported in connection with the crime. The offender got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police say a man robbed two hair salons a day apart in Lincoln Park.
Police are looking for a man who they say robbed two hair salons in Lincoln Park over the weekend. The suspect entered the salons, in the 1200 and 1300 block of West Fullerton Avenue, on Dec. 29 and 30 around 5:40 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively, according to a CBS Chicago news report. He reportedly placed a bag on the counter in each instance and displayed a handgun. Police described the man as Hispanic, with a light complexion. He is believed to be between 30 and 35 years old and weighs around 160 pounds, the report said. He was wearing a grey skull cap and a red jacket.
