Teen Accused of Robbing Bicycle-Riding Woman Near North Avenue Beach

Chicago Police charged a 17-year-old late Sunday with felony robbery.

A teenager was scheduled to appear in court today after being charged late Sunday with robbing an out-of-towner while she was riding a bicycle near North Avenue Beach.

Keith B. Clough, 17, of the 9300 block of South Perry Avenue, is facing one count of felony robbery, reports the Chicago Tribune. He and his friends reportedly approached a group of Ohio women Saturday afternoon who were renting bikes near the beach.

"The women, 25, 26 and 27, were enjoying a 'chariot' bicycle ride when a group of male and female teenagers jumped onto the bike and refused to get off, police said," the Tribune story says.

"The teens began harassing the women and 'took turns' jumping onto the chariot cycle, according to a police report. At one point, one of the teens molested one of the women, the report said."

Police say Clough is accused of taking one of the women's iPhones and running away with it on a bike path toward the lake. The women were unable to catch up to him.
