Judge sets bail at $1,000.
A Chicago man who spent two-and-a-half hours playing Grand Theft Auto video games while his 2-year-old stepson sat crying in his playpen with a broken leg was called before a judge Sunday.
Luis Matienzo, 19, of West Town, was held on $1,000 bail on a charge of misdemeanor child endangerment, reports ChicagoTribune.com.
“While knowing that the (child) was injured with a leg injury, later found to be a broken right leg,” court records state, Matienzo played Grand Theft Auto 5. Matienzo told police he knew the child’s leg was injured, the Trib reports.

Only after Matienzo had to go pick up his wife did he take the child, whose right femur was broken, for medical attention.
