Tony Award Winner Ben Vereen Joins Kovler Diabetes Center for "Living Well with Diabetes" Brunch

The University of Chicago Medicine Kovler Diabetes Center will host the 8th annual “Living Well with Diabetes” brunch on Saturday, May 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the University of Chicago Quadrangle Club located at 1155 East 57th Street in Chicago.  

This year’s event will feature Tony Award winner Ben Vereen, who has entertained audiences for years with his acting, dancing and singing.  Actress and playwright Regina Taylor will serve as emcee.

Experts from the Kovler Diabetes Center will be on hand to offer information on the latest advancements in diabetes care, nutrition and research. 

Kovler Director Lou Philipson, MD, PhD, will join adult endocrinologist Celeste Thomas, MD, psychologist Tina Drossos, PhD, and dietitian Amy Hess-Fischl, MS, RD, LDN, BC-ADM, CDE in an interactive Q & A with Ben Vereen and guests.

The University of Chicago Medicine’s Kovler Diabetes Center is dedicated to continuing a tradition of excellence in clinical care, basic and clinical research, community engagement and education. Its mission is to deliver leading-edge care and develop innovative treatments and cures for individuals with diabetes.  Established in 2006, the Kovler Diabetes Center has had a significant impact on the diabetes community at the local, regional and national level.  

“Living Well with Diabetes” is designed for adults living with diabetes and their loved ones.
