CUBS CHARITIES TEAMED UP WITH ADVOCATE HEALTH CARE FOR SUCCESSFUL PINK OUT AT WRIGLEY FIELD

On Tuesday, May 6, Cubs Charities teamed up with Advocate Health Care to successfully PINK OUT the Budweiser Bleachers for the game at Wrigley Field against the White Sox.  Each fan attending the game and sitting in the bleachers received a pink “Save 2nd Base” T-shirt in honor of moms and women everywhere who are breast cancer survivors and as a visual reminder to focus on breast health and prevention through mammograms.   Through last night’s 50/50 raffle and donations for pink hats, the $7,000 raised will fund mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women through Advocate Charitable Foundation. Team wives such as Lindsay Barney, Erika Jackson, Kate Schierholtz, Brittany Wood and others participated by passing out the shirts at the bleacher gate entrance.

In honor of breast cancer awareness and prevention, survivors were honored and featured throughout all of the game day activities including the game’s ceremonial first pitch and seventh inning stretch led by breast cancer survivors.  The event’s success is clear in photographs showing a complete “Pink Out” at Wrigley Field.  www.cubscharities.com
