Handmade Jewelry Designer Hosts Grand Opening Saturday

A designer of custom, eclectic jewelry is opening his first store on Clybourn Avenue. Read on for details.

A designer touting Bohemian-style, handmade jewelry has settled on opening his first flagship retail store right here in Lincoln Park.

Paul Miller, a luxury women's jewelry brand, is launching a grand opening party in August for a store at 2232 N. Clybourn Ave., near the avenue's intersection with Ashland and not far from the Bucktown-Wicker Park area.

Paul Miller DeZigns will showcase Miller's modern eclectic collection, a news release says. Oversized semi-precious stone rings, bracelets, and necklaces will be the main focus, along with imported global pieces; most notably, those made from Baltic Sea amber.

“The Paul Miller store is combining jewelry with meaning and art to be experienced on a deeper level,” Miller said, in a statement. "I create my designs and I either begin the project immediately until it is finished, or let it go forever. My goal is not just for people to think that it's beautiful, I want them to feel connected to something while wearing it.”

The shop will house a retail space, as well as Miller's workshop, he says. It will also feature the work of renown artist Peter Bialecki, which will be available for purchase year round.

Paul Miller DeZigns is hosting a grand opening party on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The soiree will feature live music, complimentary cocktails hors d'oeuvres and an art exhibit. Everything in the store will be 15 percent off, Miller says, and the first 30 guests will receive a "genie bag" of surprise gifts.
