January's incident reports totaled around 270, while Decembers loomed around 300, according to the city of Chicago. The areas close to the intersections of West Fullerton Parkway and North Clark Street in the Mid-North District; West Fullerton and North Sheffield avenues in the Wrightwood Neighbors area; and on North Halsted Street between West Diversey Parkway and West Wrightwood Avenue had the most crime incidents during the month of January.

Patch examined last month's crime numbers using the City of Chicago Data Portal, and created a heat map showing the areas with the most incidents reported.

Out of about 270 police reports in Lincoln Park last month, police made 30 arrests. The most common crime was theft, accounting for about 110 reports. There were also 27 burglaries, 13 robberies, 13 thefts from motor vehicles and 28 incidents of criminal trespassing.

Lincoln Park is covered by the 18th and 19th districts of the Chicago Police Department.
